About
Kevin Murray.

Kevin Murray is regarded as one of the best in the world of golf photography.

A keen sportsman, Kevin caught the golf bug in his early 30’s soon after injuries ended his football and tennis playing days.

After working in London as a Creative Director in Advertising, Kevin started up a golf marketing company in 2002 working for Callaway Golf as their Creative Director. A joint project with St Andrews Links Trust and Callaway in 2006 led to a new career in golf photography. His first major commission was to shoot all of the Links Trust courses in what was to become his trademark style, a style which was to become a benchmark for the industry in promoting golf courses worldwide.

Kevin first started working with GolfPunk founder and editor Tim Southwell in 2007 where his images were used in the magazine, coining the phrase Golf Porn.

As staff photographer for Golf Monthly, he's captured portraits and action shots of the world’s best players. He’s also the preferred photographer for Troon Golf, the world’s leading golf course management company.

In 2012 he received the Lawrence Levy Award for Outstanding Golf Photography at St Andrews University, and in 2014 he was appointed as the official photographer to the St Andrews Links Trust.

In 2020 Kevin started Bandit Golf productions and teamed up with his friend and fellow golf snapper Howard Boylan. Together in the 2 years since start up they have produced over 30 videos for some of the top brands and courses in the industry.

Howard Boylan.

Howard began his photographic career as an H.M. Forces (Army) Photographer, after leaving the Army he joined Allsport now known as GettySport, primarily shooting F1, MotoGP and European Tour Golf. Leaving to go freelance and working for National newspapers The Independent and Mail on Sunday covering Premiership football and Sports related features.

In 1997 he joined the No1 Motorcycle journal MCN shooting racing and road test features.

After leaving MCN he enjoyed another stint at Freelance where to this day he is  mainly involved in the Golf industry working with a range of clients including Today’s Golfer, Golf Monthly, Motocaddy, TaylorMade, Callaway, Travis Mathew, Ping, IMG, Dunhill International and Footjoy.

In 2010 he made the switch into Videography initially using Canon gear but now shooting with Sony and their flagship A7S111 camera and lenses and editing with Davinci Resolve Studio software.

Since 2015 Howard has been a licensed and fully insured Drone Operator now owning DJI Mavic3 and DJI Avata Cinewhoop drones to shoot the highest quality Cinematic footage. Recently he has delved into the world of FPV (First Person View) flying, using very agile and nimble stripped down racing drones to capture (with mounted GoPro 4K Action Camera) a very different, exciting and flowing kind of Drone video footage which gives the viewer a unique and thrilling pilots eye view.

All told Howard has a combined 38 years of experience in producing the highest quality photos and videos for clients.
